DICE/EA has just shown off Battlefield 4’s multiplayer component for the first time on the stage at E3. An epic match of 8 groups of 8 (thats 64 people) with players being flown in by helicopter and pulling away from the drop zone in tanks while vehicles fly overhead on a map called “Siege of Shanghai”. To date, this is our first glimpse of Battlefield 4′s multiplayer.
Commander Mode, last seen in Battlefield 2142, was also shown. It’s now accessible via mobile and tablet. In the demo it was used to call in an aerial strike (OMG by the way! Awesome!).
Also revealed today was Battlefield 4’s single-player trailer called Angry Sea. The Xbox One version will be made available a few weeks before the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
Battlefield 4 is out on Oct 29th in North America and November 1st in Europe, on current-gen systems. The next-gen version release date has not been made public, however we expect some news out of E3 in the coming days.
