Peter Moore- Chief Operating Officer at EA, has announced that the release date for the Battlefield 4 open beta is going to be sooner than first thought. On the publisher’s website on Friday, Moore posted information stating the ‘action starts with the Battlefield 4 Beta on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC slated for October 1’. This poses many questions about when the exclusive beta will be going live (if at all), considering it was supposedly starting in early October for those who had either pre-ordered Medal of Honor: Warfighter, pre-ordered the Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe Edition for PC or had Battlefield 3 Premium subscriptions giving them access before those who hadn’t.
In addition to that, he goes on to say that Battlefield 4 alongside other EA published games: Madden NFL 25 and FIFA 14, will be released up to three days earlier than their respective next-gen consoles. This will hopefully leave less chance of any missing games on console release days and mean more time playing Battlefield.
[UPDATE] Peter Moore has cleared up his earlier post and announced that the open beta will actually be on the 4th. The exclusive beta to those that pre-ordered Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe Edition for PC, Battlefield 3 Premium members, and owners of Medal of Honor: Warfighter Limited or Digital Deluxe Edition can begin playing on October 1.
