In a Battlefield game, the core mechanics always lied in the multiplayer, though with the newer gaming industry, Dice is beginning to miss key elements for the best online experience. With newer features such as recording or competitive leagues getting popular in other games, demands are rising for Battlefield, and this time around, Dice may have complied.
In an video interview posted on YouTube, Dice’s General Manager Karl Magnus Troedsson, he went on talking about Dice’s potential areas of interest, saying “I can’t talk about the specifics because we’re not announcing them” he said “but I can say that eSports is an area that we are very interested in“. eSports, essentially constitute competitive game play, including shooters.
If eSports come to Battlefield 4, it definitely would make the multiplayer experience more robust and encourage teamwork. Maybe this means you don’t have to own a server to have a clan. The details aren’t being revealed yet, though it is being looked into by Dice. Expect to see something regarding eSports along the horizon.
