EA bringing playable Battlefield 4 to gamescom 2013


In a new blog post, EA’s UK Managing Director Keith Ramsdale wrote, “This will be the first time that hundreds of thousands of potential customers will be able to get hands-on with our great line-up – from Battlefield 4 and Command & Conquer to E3 Game of the Show Titanfall, EA SPORTS FIFA 14, The Sims 4 and Need for Speed Rivals as well as chart topping mobile titles from EA All Play, Chillingo and PopCap. As I’ve said before, it’s a great time to be at EA and this promises to be our best gamescom yet.

Avoid the queues with the Fast Pass and go directly to the presentation of the respective game. Follow this link to EA’s gamescom site press your luck. If you are successful you must enter your personal details and a time slot within 5 minutes and you will be sent a code by EA. Print out the code and carry it with you when you visit. Your code will be verified at the booth of the corresponding game and, if validated, you will be granted entry. Please respect any applicable age restrictions for the game demonstrations. Your Fast Pass is only valid in conjunction with the gamescom wrist band that you receive upon entry.

gamescom is a trade fair for video games held annually at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, and is the world’s largest games event with 275,000 visitors, more than 5,500 journalists and 600 exhibitors from 83 countries attending the show in 2011. gamescom 2013 will take place on August 21st – 25th, 2013, doors open to the public 10am – 8pm on August 22nd and 23rd, 9am – 8pm on the 24th and 25th. August 21st is exclusively for trade visitors and the media. The organiser can grant access to a limited number of the general public in the afternoon.

    I’m hoping they do some sort of livestream of the players playing the game like in E3, but I doubt they’ll do that.
